After School Enrichment

Sleepy Hollow After-School Enrichment Registration 

• Classes have limited spaces and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. 
• You may assume your child is enrolled in the class unless you receive an email stating that the class is full or cancelled. 

• You will be charged for the class on your BASC invoice, but you may prepay with a check at any time. 
• You will receive a full refund if the class is cancelled due to low enrollment. 
• Cancellation policy: Refunds can only be given if you cancel before the first class has begun. The Parents’ Club cannot make partial refunds. 

• Students are expected to afford the same respect for authority to the ASE Instructors as they do our Sleepy Hollow teachers. Should a student’s behavior prove to be disruptive, the instructor has the authority to remove the student and have him/her sent to BASC. In this case, BASC charges will apply. Continued behavioral problems can result in expulsion from the class. Even in this case, refunds will not be issued, unless at the discretion of the vendor.

Art Through the Ages - $253

We'll explore a variety of art forms from different time periods and culture, including styles of sculpture and painting techniques.  We’ll make art inspired by ancient cave paintings, Egyptian art, Greek vessels, and traditional Japanese designs.  Come paint, draw and create while exploring your creativity and imagination and learning about art from around the world.  We’ll use watercolors, tempera paint, oil pastels and mixed media art materials to express our ideas in a fun and engaging class!

Day/Time: Fridays 3:30 – 4:30 for grades 1 to 5

Chess - $ 146

Chess is fun and can be learned quickly and easily! Studies have found that chess helps improve test results in reading, science, and math, and produces growth in critical cognitive skills. Beyond academia, chess influences social behavior including self esteem, respect for others, patience, and good sportsmanship. And did we mention: it’s FUN!

Day/Time: Mondays 2:15 - 3:15 for grades 1 to 5

Calligraphy and Letter Art
- $ 225

Students will be introduced to calligraphy (the art of “beautiful handwriting”) through being taught Cursive as well as simple forms of artistic alphabets. We’ll use different tools including fountain pens, old-fashioned dip pens, brush pens and quills as we approach lettering from an artistic perspective of drawing out each letter. We will also spend some time examining historical texts and re-create our own stunning illuminations with faux gold leaf as well as creating super fun FAIRY MAIL for classmates! Emphasis will be on pride in handmade creations through letter writing and in the value our own words have as well as how we can share them with others.

Glee Club, Myeve Capozzi Vocal Training - $ 210

Born to perform and entertain?  Unlock your inner star and light up the stage in Glee Club!  Glee Club is a performance-based class where students learn fun dance moves and staging while singing their hearts out to their favorite songs.  Students will also have the chance to create their own show stopping choreography, sing solos, and play games.  Glee Club is a fun group of non-competitive, supportive and encouraging friends whose passion is to sing and perform!  Showcase scheduled for the last day of the session.

Just Desserts - $270

In this 9 week class, we’ll  learn to make cookies,  cakes,  breads, strudels  and  much more !  Building self-confidence, creativity and a life-long skill are important ingredients to this class.   Each child will take home a personalized recipe book at the end of class.  

 **This is a nut-free class.   Please note, unable to accommodate gluten-free and dairy free.

Day/Time:  Thursdays 3:30 – 4:45 (75 minutes) for grades 2 to 5

Lamorinda Mileage Club - $ 225

Lamorinda Mileage Club offers over a period of 8 weeks for boys and girls in the 3rd through 5th grade to participate in an after-school program which helps build their confidence and celebrate all that makes them unique through running and strength building. Our program is meant to inspire an appreciation of fitness and to build healthy habits that lead to a lifetime of healthy choices.  Join us for an hour once a week and start setting a framework for healthy life goals.

Day/Time: Tuesdays 3:30 – 4:30 for grades 1 to 5

Programming with LEGO EV3 – $ 178

Experience the cutting edge of technology with LEGO Mindstorms EV3 Robotics. Students will be captivated as they incorporate the newest generation of motors, sensors, and software from LEGO. Test their capabilities by building and programming a robotic claw, a robot that draws, or an electric guitar. Unleash the creative powers of your young engineer with the LEGO MINDSTORMS as they learn to build and program amazing things!!  For grades 2nd and up.

Day/Time: Mondays 2:30 - 3:45 (75 minutes) for grades 2 to 5

Skyhawks Kindergarten Sports Medley (Baseball, Basketball, Soccer, Track & Field) - $ 180

This multi-sport program combines Baseball, Basketball, Soccer and Track & Field into one fun-filled program. Through interactive drills and skill-based games, participants gain the skills, confidence, and passion to take the next step in their athletic development. Skyhawks staff provide a safe and positive environment where young athletes can learn the essential skills, rules, and strategies, of each sport. Your child will leave with new skills, new friends, and a new love for sports! All participants receive a Skyhawks T-Shirt and Award Medal.

Soccer- $ 210

Cal men's soccer assistant coach Stefan Clemens welcomes all Sleepy Hollow students to join the Fall Soccer clinics 2019. This after school soccer class is provided for girls and boys TK - 3rd grade (ages 3-9) at any level. Each player will work on their footwork, balance, coordination, ball mastery (touches on the soccer ball), dribbling moves, passing technique, and shooting technique and power. Along with learning the technical aspects of soccer, all players will compete in competitive situations like 1v1 games, 2v2 games, and 3v3 games. At the end of each session, the players will play freely (from 4v4 up to 8v8) to work together as a team, and utilize the moves and techniques they learned earlier in the session. Competing in a safe environment is important for each players development both on and off the field. This soccer class is designed for players learn the game of soccer, get solid exercise, understand and implement good sportsmanship, and most of all, have fun!

Ticket to Ride with LEGO – $ 172

Delve into the history and mechanics of amusement park rides as we construct various poplar rides with LEGO® bricks. Lessons incorporate principles of physics and engineering, described in a way children can understand, such as G-force, inertia and momentum, as well as math concepts such as there are 360 degrees in a circle. These engaging lessons will give students an understanding of the physical forces they experience every day all while reinforcing the S.T.E.M. and CORE concepts and playing with the world's most popular toy - LEGO®.  All builds are motorized!

Day/Time: Thursdays 3:30-4:30 for grades K-5

YoGo4Kids - Yoga for the Body, Mind & Heart - $160

YoGo4Kids is an active, age-appropriate yoga class where children increase body awareness, build confidence and cultivate a heart full of gratitude & joy.

Thematic classes include breath-work, individual & partner poses, non-competitive games and a time for relaxation. Yoga mats are provided.
